Shaikh Farid built a fort, a tank and a mosque which are in ruins. Later, it becomes the headquarters of a pargana which was held in jagir by the Ballabgarh ruler.

Faridabad became 12th district of Haryana State on 15th August, 1979. The population of the city was 2,193,276 inhabitants in the year 2001 with an area of 2151.00 square kilometers. And its population density was 1020 per square kilometers. It is bounded by the National Capital Territory of Delhi on its north, Gurgaon District on the west, and of Uttar Pradesh State on its east and south.

Faridabad experiences a boom with day tourists, owing to the clear air, town character with rich culture, high quality of life and conspicuously original history. The picturesque scenery, the majesty of nature, the slow pace of life, and the welcoming nature of its people also combine to make this region one of the most important tourist attractions in India.
