India officially the Republic of India, is a country in South Asia. It is the seventh-largest country by geographical area, the second most populous country, and the most populous liberal democracy in the world. Aizwal city is one of the famous cities in India. Aizawl lies between the Tlawng River valley in the west and Tuirial River valley in the East. Aizawl is the capital, as well as the political and cultural centre, of the Indian state of Mizoram. It is the seat of the government of Mizoram, and all important government as well as public sector offices are located at Aizawl. It is also the headquarters of the Aizawl district. This 112-year old city is also the commercial and cultural hub of the state with all economic activities centered there. Aizawl lies in the northern part of Mizoram, just north of the Tropic of Cancer. It has an average elevation of 1018 metres.
 
As of 2001 India censusGRIndia, Aizawl had a population of 229,714. Males constitute 51 percent of the population and females 49 percent. Aizawl has an average literacy rate of 84 percent, higher than the national average of 59.5 percent; with 51 percent of the males and 49 percent of females literate. 13 percent of the population is under 6 years of age.
 
The closest airport is Lengpui Airport, near Aizawl. Aizawl is connected to Kolkata and Imphal. Bara Bazar is the main shopping center with stalls selling garments and other commodities. The main bazaar is where the people are best seen in their traditional costumes selling produce from farms and homesteads including river crabs with little wicker baskets. Luangmual Handicarfts Centre is 7 kilometers away. The Khumbeu ceremonial bamboo hat is made here using waterproof hnahthial leaves. The Mizoram State Museum is situated at Mc Donald Hill in the town center. Though small, it has an interesting collection of historical relics, ancient costumes and traditional implements.
 
Various varieties of jungle products, monuments and memorials connected with legends and folklores are also available. Today, one can also learn about its history, from its earliest times and gain enthusiasm in its natural beauty and populace. Aizwal enjoys a very positive reputation with worldwide travelers.
