Georgia: Amazing Landscapes


Georgia is a really new country that is located in Southwestern Asia. It shares its borders with Turkey and Russia and has direct access to the Black Sea. The country got its independence form Soviet Union on April 9, 1991. The climate in Georgia is humid and agreeable and hot in the coast of the Black Sea.

According to the last census 4,677,401 people live in this country. They are distributed in different ethnic groups: 83.3% Georgians, 6.5% Azeri, 5.7% Armenian, 1.5% Russians and the rest (2.5%) is divided by several minor groups. The official religion of the country is the orthodox Christian (83.9%), Armenian Gregorian (3.9%), Catholic (0.8%), Muslim (9.9%) and others (0.7%). The official language is the Georgian, but Russian, Armenian, Azeri and other dialects are also used. Nevertheless, the official language is Abkhazia.

The country is divided in nine regions, nine cities and two autonomous republics. The capital city of the country is known as Tbilisi which is also the biggest city that you can find in Georgia. One of the main attractions in Georgia is the beautiful landscape of the Caucasus Mountains. It also has very old and full of history buildings and numerous national parks that are waiting for you to explore them.
