Jhansi




India officially the Republic of India, is a country in South Asia. It is the seventh-largest country by geographical area, the second most populous country, and the most populous liberal democracy in the world. Jhansi is one of the famous cities in India. Jhansi is a city of Uttar Pradesh state of northern India. Jhansi is a major road and rail junction, and is the administrative seat of Jhansi District and Jhansi Division. Jhansi city has 77th rank in most populated cities' list of India, according to 2001 Census.
 
In the 9th century, the region of Jhansi came under the rule of the Rajput Chandela dynasty of Khajuraho. The artificial reservoirs and architectural remains of the hilly region probably date from this era. The Ex. Prime minister Mr. Atal Behari Vajpayee's dream project on developing the highways has brought about catalytic improvement to Jhansi's development. The North-South Corridor connecting Kashmir to Kanyakumari passes through Jhansi. A greenfield airport is also on the anvil. The walled city grew up around its stone fort, which crowns a neighboring rock.
 
There are 10 cinema halls in this city. Jhansi parliamentary constituency includes geographical boundaries of Jhansi and Lalitpur districts. Jhansi is a hub for medical care in Bundelkhand region. Jhansi city is a major hub of education in Bundelkhand region. Interesting places include Jhansi Fort, Rani Mahal, Maha Lakshmi Temple, Ganesh Mandir etc.
 
And other attractions include Sukma-Dukma Dam, MataTila Dam, Deogarh, Orchha, Datia, Shivpuri etc. Sukma-Dukma Dam is an old, long and a very beautiful dam over the Betwa River, approximately 45 kilometers from Jhansi, near Babina town. Mata Tila Dam is approximately 55 kilometers south of the Jhansi city, it's a very beautiful picnic spot. The dam is built on the river Betwa. There is a botanical garden near the dam site. Orchha is 18 kilometers from Jhansi on Jhansi-Khajuraho road, it's a smal mediaval city. It's famous for Lord Ram temple.

Jhansi is also known as the city of best geographical environment and has traced its origins back to prehistoric times. Today, one can also learn about its history, from its earliest times and can also enjoy its natural beauty concealed by the beautiful landscapes.
