India officially the Republic of India, is a country in South Asia. Moradabad is a municipality in Uttar Pradesh state of India. It was established in 1600 by Murad, the son of the Mughal Emperor Shahjahan as a result the city came to known as Moradabad. It is the administrative headquarters of Moradabad District. Moradabad is located at a distance of 167 kilometers from the national capital, New Delhi, at the bank of River Ram Ganga.
 
The city is famous for its huge export of brass handicrafts to North America and Europe, and is also thus called Brass City. It has close to one million citizens of various ethnicities and religions. The town forms a large centre of trade in country produce. It has a special industry in ornamental brassware, sometimes plated with lac or tin, which is then engraved. Cotton weaving and printing is also carried on.
