Dohad is a city and a municipality in Dohad district in the state of Gujarat, India. It is 200 kms away from Ahmedabad and 150 kilometers away from Vadodara. The famous Aurangzeb fort is here. The Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, was born in Dahod in 1618. Aurangzeb was quoted to have ordered his miniters to show favors to this small town, as it was his birthplace.

Dohad has an average literacy rate of 76 percent, higher than the national average of 59.5 percent male literacy is 81 percent and, female literacy is 71 percent. In Dohad, 12 percent of the population is under 6 years of age.
