Damoh
India officially the Republic of India, is a country in South Asia. It is the seventh-largest country by geographical area, the second most populous country, and the most populous liberal democracy in the world. India is a union of twenty-eight states and seven federally-governed union territories. New Delhi is the capital of India.
Damoh is a town in the Sagar Division of northeast Madhya Pradesh in India. It is the administrative headquarters of Damoh District. It was founded by Rani Damayanti of Mahabharat period. In 2001, the population of the city was 1081909 with an area of 7,306 square kilometers. It has a considerable cattle-market and a number of small industries, such as weaving, dyeing and pottery-making.
The district of Damoh has an area of 2816 square meters. Except on the south and east, where the offshoots from the surrounding hills and patches of jungle break up the country, the district consists of open plains of varying degrees of fertility, interspersed with low ranges and isolated heights. Damoh was first formed into a separate district in 1861.
