Japan is an island country in East Asia. Ichinomiya is a municipality located in Aichi, Japan. The city is often called Owari-ichinomiya to avoid confusion with another Ichinomiya now part of the city of Toyokawa. In 2005, the population of the city was 378,409 and an area of 113.91 square kilometers. The town of Ichinomiya was founded by the merging of Ichinomiya and Ichishiki. The city was founded on September 1, 1921.
 
Ichinomiya has a number of traditional Japanese activities, particularly Martial Arts. There is an Aikido, Judo, Karate, Kendo, Kyudo, and Shorinji Kempo club. There are a number of bars in Ichinomiya. One of the most famous is Machio's, a small bar famous for its hospitality to foreigners.
