Japan is an island country in East Asia. It is located in the Pacific Ocean it lies to the east of China, Korea, and Russia, stretching from the Sea of Okhotsk in the north to the East China Sea in the south. Its capital and largest city is Tokyo. It has the world's 10th largest population. It is world's largest international creditor and is the sixth largest exporter and importer and is a member of the United Nations. And it is a leading nation in the fields of scientific research, technology, machinery, and medical research with the world's third largest budget for research and development.
 
Kagoshima is the capital city of Kagoshima region at the southwest tip of the Kyushu island of Japan and the biggest city in the prefrecture by some margin. It has been nicknamed the Naples of Japan, for its bay location, hot climate and impressive stratovolcano, Sakurajima. In 2005, the population of the city was 605,650 and an area of 546.71 square kilometers.
 
Kagoshima is approximately 40 minutes from Kagoshima Airport and the city features large shopping districts and malls, is served by trams and has many restaurants featuring Satsuma regional cuisine. A large, modern aquarium has been installed on the old docks overlooking the volcano. The Senganen Japanese garden is just outside the city.

Kagoshima is definitely one of the popular tourist attractions in Japan worth paying a visit while touring the country. This place leaves a pleasing and unforgettable memory and justifies the proud cultural tradition of Japan.
