Japan is an island country in East Asia. It is located in the Pacific Ocean it lies to the east of China, Korea, and Russia, stretching from the Sea of Okhotsk in the north to the East China Sea in the south. Its capital and largest city is Tokyo. It has the world's 10th largest population. It is world's largest international creditor and is the sixth largest exporter and importer and is a member of the United Nations. And it is a leading nation in the fields of scientific research, technology, machinery, and medical research with the world's third largest budget for research and development.
 
Nagoya is the fourth largest city in Japan. Located on the Pacific coast in the Chubu region on central Honshu, it is the capital of Aichi region and is one of Japan's major ports along with those of Tokyo, Osaka, Kobe, Yokohama, Chiba and Hakata. It is also the center of Japan's third biggest metropolitan region, known as the Chukyo Metropolitan Area. In 2004, the population of the city was 2,202,111 with a density of 6,745 persons per square kilometer.
 
The city was founded on October 1, 1889, and was designated on September 1, 1956 by government ordinance. The city's name was historically written as the older Emperor of that time and as the city is located between Kyoto, Shikoku and Tokyo, it was also historically known as central capital. Nagoya's main industry is the automotive business, as many Japanese automotive companies are based out of Nagoya.
