Sagar

India officially the Republic of India, is a country in South Asia. It is the seventh-largest country by geographical area, the second most populous country, and the most populous liberal democracy in the world. India is a union of twenty-eight states and seven federally-governed union territories. New Delhi is the capital of India.

Sagar, also known as Saugor, is a city in Madhya Pradesh state of central India. It is the administrative seat of Sagar District and Sagar Division. The town is in a picturesque situation on a spur of the Vindhya Range, 1758 feet above sea-level. The town is handsomely built, and is an emporium of trade.

Thus the city is known as the Heart of Madhya Pradesh. Besides the university, the city is also known for its very good schools like Centrel School and the reputed Saint Joseph's Convent School Sagar. Sagar was founded in 1983, but owes its importance to having been made the capital of the Maratha governor who established himself here in 1735. Upon India's independence in 1947, The former Central Provinces and Berar became the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.

Sagar experiences a boom with day tourists, owing to the clear air, town character with rich culture, high quality of life and conspicuously original history. The picturesque scenery, the majesty of nature, the slow pace of life, and the welcoming nature of its people also combine to make this region one of the most important tourist attractions in India.
