KLM and NHTV Breda University of Professional Education sign Agreement

KLM and NHTV Breda University of Professional Education today signed an agreement to promote expertise development and innovation. Concrete points in the collaboration include Aviation Management and Imagineering.

Imagineering is a new form of value creation and innovation, it offers companies operating in the creative economy new horizons in innovation. In September of 2006, the vocational college (located in Breda, in the south of the Netherlands) will offer a master’s degree in Imagineering for executives in the international business world. For this reason, Paul Gregorowitsch, Executive Vice President of KLM’s Commercial will sit on the advisory board for the degree.

Furthermore, KLM will be involved in the development of a new degree in Aviation Management which the school will introduce in 2006. Although Aviation Management is not entirely new, NHTV is choosing to take a new business approach to the subject in contrast to the technical focus that most schools follow. Important components will include Airline Management, Business Travel Management, Air Cargo Management, and Airport Management.

Both KLM and NHTV have expressed their intention to further build on this strategic collaboration in the future and develop a broad range of projects at local and international level. Koert de Jager, director of NHTV’s Strategic Center for Internationalization, characterizes the strategic collaboration as an important next step in positioning NHTV Breda University of Professional Education as an international expertise center. According to Paul Gregorowitsch, KLM’s Executive Vice President Commercial, “I expect the collaboration with NHTV to provide an important stimulus to innovations of our products and services, all aimed at customer satisfaction.”
