Jet Airways' Chief Operating Officer to retire


Jet Airways' Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Peter Luethi is to retire at the end of his three year contract at the end of April 2006 when he will relocate to USA.

The airline does not intend to fill the position of Chief Operating Officer following Mr.Luethi’s retirement. However Mr. Garry Kingshott, an Australian national has been appointed as Jet Airways’ Chief Commercial Officer, effective March 2006. In his position, Mr. Kingshott will report to the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Wolfgang Prock-Schauer.

Mr. Kingshott, an Australian national will bring to Jet Airways over 31 years of corporate experience, with 10 years in the airline industry. He will oversee the areas of Marketing and Sales, Commercial, Airport services, and all aspects of Customer Service.

An experienced individual having served across industry segments including food processing, advertising, travel services, IT & T and financial services. Mr. Kingshott has a solid reputation for achieving strategic and financial objectives though strong leadership. He has successfully launched products and services in Australia, Asian, European and North American markets.

Mr. Kingshott moves into this challenging role from his previous position as CEO -Melbourne Convention Visitors Bureau. Prior to this, he has held several managerial positions as Executive Director - Jeekay Pty Ltd Consulting services, CEO – Ansett International, General Manager Marketing and Sales – South Australian Brewing Company Limited, Promotional Marketing – Cato Johnson, General Manager, Sales and Marketing – SAFCOL Holdings Ltd and Sales & Product Manager – Johnson and Johnson Pty Ltd through his 31-year corporate career.
