India: Country of Beautiful Temples


India is located in the Southern part of the Asiatic continent, it borders with Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, China, Myanmar (Burma) and Bangladesh and it limits with the Indic Ocean to the south. India is the second country that has the major quantity of people living in there (China is the first). It is also qualified as the first democracy with more people.

The climate of the country varies from tropical monsoon in the south to moderate in the north. The population of the country is of 1,080,264,388 people who are distributed or divided in several ethnic groups; 72 % Indo Aryan, 25 % Dravidian, 3 % Mongoloid and other minor groups. The official religion of India is the Hindu (80.5 %), other faiths are Muslim (13.4 %), Christian (2.3 %) Sikh (1.9 %) and 1.9 % of others. About their language, the Hindu is the official, but there are more than 100 other different languages in the country.

The country is divided or administered by 28 states where the capital is New Delhi. There are many different attractions that a tourist can enjoy in this country. The most common are the Hindu temples as the Taj Mahal, which is a huge mausoleum located in a city called Agra; it was built by the emperor Shah Jahan for his wife, who died after giving birth to her 14th son.
